Lyle Longstaff
Since 2000, I’ve been experimenting and developing my skills and processes. I find inspiration everywhere I look, and that inevitably filters down into my work. Reach out for additional info regarding my process.
If you are looking to add an original art piece to your collection, I would be happy to discuss any of my works or a custom commission with you.
Please remember as you view my work, the photography doesn't quite capture the true colors and vibrancy of the paintings.

My
Story
I was born in New Westminster in 1939 and have lived my entire life in the Lower Mainland, including forty years in the lovely Hazelmere Valley.
After attending Semiahmoo High School I worked outdoors in the construction and farming industries. These years of experience honed my deep awareness of natural beauty and the rhythm of the seasons as they unfold.
An industrial accident became a blessing in disguise, as it left me unable to work for several months. This is when I took up painting for the first time, and my innate talent was immediately recognized.
I paint and draw because I love it. I studied with Vee Hansen and the late Dale Germain and have developed my own clear, clean style in my portrayals of seascapes, landscapes, flowers and wildlife. I like to work in oil and acrylic.
Outside of painting, I enjoy flower gardening, camping, hiking and fishing, and while engaged in these activities, my painter’s eye is constantly seeking out more inspiration for my art.
My work is available at the Kube Gallery in Fort Langley, BC.
